Caire is a reed quintet founded in 2020 in the Netherlands by a group of young Spaniards who met during their studies at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam and Fontys Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg.
Its main goal is to share with the audience the stories, images and sensations that music produces. Caire presents their concerts in an accessible and innovative way, while respecting the history and roots of the music they perform.
The ensemble performs short programmes consisting of arrangements of different styles of classical music, with the intention of recreating the ideal atmosphere for the audience to reflect and be guided by the narrative of the music. Among the repertoire they present are compositions from the Renaissance to the present day.
Caire performances are aimed at a wide variety of audiences, so it is not exclusively for those who visit a concert hall frequently. Since one of its goals is to make classical music more accessible, the representations take place in unusual venues such as parks, art galleries or cultural centres.
