Calefax Celebrates 40 Years with a grand Reed Festival!

Mark your calendars! From November 20-23, 2025, Calefax will celebrate its 40th anniversary with the Calefax Reed Festival at Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam. This four-day event is packed with concerts, workshops, and international guests, catering to musicians, music lovers, and families. Expect special performances, including a revival of Dido & Aeneazz with trumpeter Erik Vloeimans and Un Momento Dado by Johan de Meij. Tickets go on sale starting March 25!Reed quintets from around the world will join the festival, including the Grammy-winning Akropolis Reed Quintet (USA) and Kalamos Reed Quintet (Croatia). Each Calefax member will also invite a renowned soloist, such as clarinetist Shirley Brill from Israel or saxophonist Nicolas Arsenijevic from France.
